Ashley & Terrence’s Wedding: May 31, 2014
We recently teamed up with Joe Moffitt, music director extraordinaire, to give Ashley and Terrence the royal musical treatmentfor their May 14th wedding at St. Mary’s Church in Old Forge.
The couple opted for a string quartet (2 violins, viola & cello) and TEN additional musicians to create an unforgettable musical experience for their Catholic wedding ceremony.

About Ashley & Terrence…
“We both grew up in the Scranton area: Ashley in Old Forge, Terrence in Clarks Summit. We didn’t meet until after high school, but on the night we met, we found out each of our families vacationed in the same place for years — Hilton Head Island, SC. We dated for almost seven years before getting engaged in July 2012 in Hilton Head. Terrence popped the question at sunset at the top of the Harbor Town Lighthouse and minutes later, both of our families joined us at the top to celebrate.”
Ashley’s “Surprise” Wedding Dress…
In addition to a lavish musical fanfare, Ashley had another trick up her sleeve: a stunning pistachio-green princess gown!

In thousands of weddings, this was our FIRST pistachio bridal gown. We couldn’t help but ask Ashley to share the story behind her one-of-a-kind dress:
“Well, I didn’t go into the hunt for my dress thinking I would pick anything like that. I went with an open mind and I tried on quite a few dresses at my first stop and loved them all. But then the woman who was helping me brought out one last one, the green one, and told me to try it just to see. I looked at it on the hanger in the dressing room and I did not think I would like it. It was nothing that I had pictured my wedding dress being. But once I put it on, I did not want to take it off, and thought about how original I could be with a green dress. It was truly a princess gown but the green color gave it an edge. I knew I would be coming back very soon to purchase it, and I basically planned all the details of my wedding around my dress. It was very hard keeping it a secret but no one knew the color until the wedding day so it was a great surprise!”

The Wedding Ceremony & Music…
“We wanted to take our time planning our wedding. We both wanted it to be a day we, and our 350+ guests would never forget. We wanted it to be traditional without it being boring, and we knew the music would be a big part of that.”
The Valenches Music Company String Quartet performed a variety of classical and operatic selections to greet Ashley and Terrence’s wedding guests. In addition to the string quartet, the couple enlisted a balcony-full of musicians to create a mini-orchestrafor Ashley’s grand entrance and theirCatholic wedding ceremony. Their music, under the expert direction of organist Joe Moffitt, included:
